Hello! My name is Jackson and I enjoy solving complex problems and building things from scratch. I am currently a sophomore studying computer science at UC Berkeley. My current interests are fullstack development, machine learning, and game development. My current courses are below.

This website is my personal portfolio to showcase my web development skills. It is in the early stage at the moment but after the design is complete I will refactor the code and implement additional features.

Build Your Own World

This is a 2D tile-based game built for my data structures class. It allows you to generate pseudorandom worlds based on a binary space partitioning algorithm. It supports player movement with keyboard input and loading and saving previous game saves.

Contributing to feature development, and quality assurance within the Q-Chat and set page team. Utilizing React, TypeScript, Jest.
Refactored codebase by removing redundant, unused code and componentizing React/Next.js and PHP code.

2. Software Engineer Intern @ HMSA

June 2023 - August 2023

Honolulu, Hawai'i

Researched the merits of using AWS Amplify as a part of HMSA mobile strategy, gave a presentation and demo of Amplify, how it works, and its pros and cons.
Assisted in the transition from a static website to a dynamic platform using Contentstack CMS, resulting in saved developer hours and easier content management.
Developed new features for the company website in an agile development environment, including modal windows and dynamic pages for health plan updates with embedded videos using JavaScript.

3. Software Engineer Intern @ Rimble.io

January 2023 - May 2023

Berkeley, California

Developed a new dashboard system, expanding services to include NBA game projections. Utilized React.js, JavaScript, Amazon API Gateway, and AWS Lambda.
Enhanced dashboard UI with dynamic tables, additional display options, and styling improvements.
Conducted comprehensive quality assurance, resolving technical issues on Google Cloud Platform and ensuring timely deployment of Python web scraping scripts for data extraction from esports bookmaker APIs. Validated Rimble API service response format using Python scripts.

4. Intern @ Livetree Community Limited

Brought new content creators to the community-driven, NFT platform for the launch campaign and optimized the company website for search engine traffic.
Reduced marketing research time from 2+ hours down to 5 minutes using web scraping with Selenium in Python.

Led weekend workshops teaching kids how to design, build and program robots using metal, plastic, and cardboard materials.
